        Cardinals add Zay Jones

        Zay Jones Headshot

The Cardinals are signing former Jaguars WR Zay Jones, according to multiple reports. NFL Network reports that it's a one-year deal worth "up to" $4.5 million.

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Jones lands in an offense with clear target opportunity. TE Trey McBride is the only returning Cardinal who reached 60 targets last season.

We're certainly betting on him and first-round WR Marvin Harrison Jr. leading the newcomer in 2024 looks, but Jones can fight for the No. 3 spot.

Jones lost eight games to injuries last year and played through PCL and cartilage damage in other contests. That helps explain dips in yards per catch receptions per game, and receiving success rate.

He finished 2022 as the WR26 in PPR scoring, though.

Look for Jones to battle Michael Wilson for the primary outside spot opposite Harrison. Jones has only reached 40% slot use in one of his seven seasons, according to Pro Football Focus.

        Dynasty Impact

There's not much dynasty impact to this one. Jones is still just 29 but has reached 100 targets in a season just twice through seven years in the NFL. He's had just one other fantasy finish inside the top 36 (with Buffalo in 2018).

Michael Wilson remains the better dynasty stash, even if he trails Jones in 2024 usage. And neither is an exciting asset.

        Other Winners & Losers

QB Kyler Murray gets another veteran WR. That should help some, but we're not altering his projected numbers for the Jones addition. The veteran wideout doesn't add upside vs. what Murray already had to work with.

Similarly, don't expect Jones to significantly alter the target outlooks for Marvin Harrison Jr. or TE Trey McBride. Greg Dortch still looks most likely to lead slot duties among the WRs. He's a different player type than Jones and Wilson.

We'll watch for word from Cardinals coaches on specific plans, though, and obviously watch reports come training-camp time.

        Rankings Movement

With Jones and Michael Wilson likely the most affected, don't expect much of a shakeup to the 2024 WR rankings.

        Projected ADP Movement

Jones figures to get a bump low in the best ball ADP ranks. But this move likely doesn't affect much else there.
