Falcons OC Zac Robinson said he'll find "creative ways" to get the ball to RB Bijan Robinson, drawing a comparison to how the 49ers use RB Christian McCaffrey. Zac Robinson never coached McCaffrey -- but he did spend the last five seasons working under Rams HC Sean McVay, whose offense has regularly produced big RB numbers.
Here's the full quote from Falcons OC Zac Robinson on his plans for RB Bijan Robinson:
“He’s going to play running back first and foremost and then any way we can find creative ways to get him the ball like the Niners do with Christian McCaffrey is exactly right. Continuing to tailor and tweak things and find creative ways to get him the football and not just in the dot or in the offset gun running the football, but using his receiver skills without overloading him too much. (There’s) always going to be the balance of it. Hey, you’re playing running back, but here are some of the specific nuances that we get you involved in the pass game.”
You don't need us to tell you that this is exciting news for Robinson's 2024 fantasy outlook. His usage under former HC Arthur Smith last year was often frustrating. Robinson ranked 14th among RBs in expected PPR points per game.
That ranking figures to climb significantly in 2024, potentially even to No. 1. And if that comes to fruition, Robinson would have the potential to lead RBs in fantasy points.
He's fairly valued at his mid-Round-1 ADP.
More work for Robinson would be bad news for RB Tyler Allgeier, who ranked 47th in expected PPR points per game last year. We're not expecting him to be useable in fantasy lineups as long as Robinson is healthy this season. Allgeier is still worth a bench stash, though, as a strong handcuff to Robinson.
A loaded supporting cast, improved QB play, and offensive continuity set the stage for Atlanta to deliver serious fantasy value in 2025.
