Jordan Love Injured Late; Hope for No ACL Tear

Packers QB Jordan Love left Friday night's loss to the Eagles late in the fourth quarter after suffering an injury to his left leg. Video shows a pop in his knee, but neither the team nor the player offered any details after the game. The obvious general concern is that Love tore a ligament in that knee, but former NFL team doctor David Chao doesn't think that's what happened.

        What They're Saying

Chao, via his SIC Score website: "The left patella slightly subluxed but ankle issue is bigger deal. Rolling up on ankle can cause simultaneous knee issue. More often than not knee subluxations happened without structural damage. No worry for an ACL tear. The injury appears less severe since it affects his front leg, which is not as crucial for pushing off as his back leg. This detail could play an important role in determining his availability for future games.

        2024 Fantasy Football Impact

We should get more details on this injury at some point Saturday, and it carries high impact potential.

If Love misses any time, Green Bay would turn to Malik Willis. In case you're not familiar with him, Willis started three games as a 2022 rookie for the Titans, stunk, and got dumped for Mason Rudolph at the end of this year's preseason.

That the Packers sought out Willis to take over their backup role shows how poorly the other QBs behind Love performed this summer.

Any missed time for Love would be terrible news for all Green Bay pass-catchers.

Let's hope Dr. Chao is correct

        What's Next for Jordan Love?

Further testing on Love's injured leg figures to wait until after the team flight home. We'll watch for updates.
