Titans RB Tony Pollard out-carried RB Tyjae Spears 16 to four in Sunday's opener vs. the Bears. Both backs saw four targets. Pollard looked more explosive than he did at any point of his disappointing 2023 season. He ripped off 82 rushing yards for 5.1 yards per carry, highlighted by this 26-yard score in the first quarter. Pollard added 12 more yards on three catches.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Pollard was the bright spot for a Titans offense that mostly struggled in Chicago. Both his usage and performance were very encouraging in this one.
It'd be nice to get more from QB Will Levis and the passing game going forward. But Pollard is looking like a weekly RB2 -- with upside beyond that if the offense kicks into gear.
Other Winners & Losers
Spears' fantasy value took a hit in Week 1. We'll see if the backfield usage shifts at all in Week 2, but Spears needs to be on fantasy benches for now.
