Chris Godwin Carted Off with Left Ankle Injury

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin suffered a significant left leg injury late in Monday night's loss to the Ravens. He left the field on a cart with an air cast on the bottom half of his leg, and ESPN declined to show replay of the injury (because of the severity). This sure seems likely to end Godwin's season.

Update: HC Todd Bowles said after the game that early indication is a dislocated ankle and that it "doesn't look good," NFL Network reports.

That, of course, followed WR Mike Evans leaving the same game after re-injuring his left hamstring. We'll watch for updates on both players, but Tampa seems likely to miss both players for at least a Week 8 home date with Atlanta.

Jalen McMillan ran as the third wideout to open Monday night's game. Trey Palmer and Sterling Shepard would factor into replacement plans as well.

        Dynasty Impact

Godwin's in the final year of his contract and set to hit unrestricted free agency ahead of his age-29 season. We'll see how this injury affects his offseason timeline.

        Other Winners & Losers

Losing Godwin is sure to negatively impact QB Baker Mayfield. He hit Week 7 as a top-5 fantasy QB but will likely sit outside our top 12 at the position for Week 8 -- especially if Evans can't play.

Mayfield figures to sit in QB2 range more often going forward as well.

        Waiver Wire Targets

McMillan will make sense as a waiver target this week but isn't likely to pop as a starting option for most fantasy formats with no teams on bye in Week 8.

TE Cade Otton should see an uptick in target share going forward as well. He'll likely fit more common-sized leagues.

        DFS Impact

McMillan ($3700 on DraftKings) and Otton ($3500) will be in play as cheap upside options for a main-slate matchup with the Falcons in Week 8.
