Justin Herbert Inconsistent in Fourth Straight 2-TD Game

Chargers QB Justin Herbert started hot in Sunday night's win over the Bengals. He completed 10 of 14 passes for 183 yards and 2 TDs before halftime, adding 58 yards on 4 rushes. The second half went quite differently, though. Herbert completed only seven of 22 attempts for 104 more yards, plus a 7-yard carry. The result, at least, was his fourth straight game with 2 total TDs and his fourth game among the past five with at least 279 passing yards.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

Herbert's season-low 47.2% completion rate was probably more fluke than worrisome sign. The rest of his numbers stayed up as they have been after a slower start to the year. And the veteran QB looked terrific in the first half.

Herbert now gets upside matchups three of the next four weeks:

  • Baltimore in Week 12
  • at Atlanta in Week 13
  • Tampa Bay in Week 15

His toughest remaining spot looks like a Week 16 home date with the Broncos. Though a Week 17 visit to New England could bring challenging weather.

As long as he doesn't come out next week and play closer to how his second half looked against Cincinnati, Herbert should be a key player in plenty of fantasy football playoffs.
