Kyle Pitts Likely to Play Elsewhere in 2026

Falcons beat writer Josh Kendall left the NFL combine believing TE Kyle Pitts will play elsewhere in 2026. Pitts enters a contract season this fall. Kendall’s belief stems from a lack of production – and the “tone” of recent comments from HC Raheem Morris and GM Terry Fontenot.

        What They're Saying

        Here’s Morris on Pitts:

“He’s always going to have the added pressure because of where he was drafted [4th overall],” Morris said. “We want to get the young man out there being the best version of himself and we will always make the right decision for the Falcons in order to get him going. We’ll have to figure those things out. He’s shown some spurts of greatness, and he’s shown some things that (make you) desire more. We’ll try to get the best out of him at all times. That’s our job as coaches.”

Here are the comments from Fontenot:

“Kyle is a really talented player. Man, you can make a highlight tape and see all the good things that he’s done. Where we stand at this point, Kyle in his mind this offseason (has to be thinking), ‘I’m going to do everything I can do to make sure I’m effective and I’m helping this team win,’ Just like any other player, we are pouring into our players and make sure we can do everything we can do. We believe Kyle is going to put everything he can into it to be the best player he can be for us, and we’re going to do the same.”

        Dynasty Impact

Pitts turns just 25 in October. So there's a chance a change of scenery finally rejuvenates his career.

However, we've seen nothing on the field to suggest he's ready to pop. Pitts' yards per route run have dipped in each of the past three seasons.

In 2024, he managed only 35.4 yards per game. He finished as a top-10 fantasy TE in five of 17 games. (Two of those were right at TE10, with one coming in the brief sample alongside QB Michael Penix Jr.)

See if Pitts cracks the top-12 in our dynasty TE rankings.
