Colts QB Anthony Richardson said this week that his right shoulder is "all good," and that he'll be ready for the start of training camp.
Richardson: "Not really even a bump in the road. I feel like I tripped. I fell. Just got back up and hit the ground running again."
HC Shane Steichen said in early June that the team planned to get Richardson back on the field "at some point" during training camp, but he avoided laying out a more specific timeline.
It's obviously tough to say right now whether Richardson's comments reflect an overly optimistic player who knows he's heading into a critical camp ... or a real update on the status of his shoulder.
We'll be closely watching the status of Richardson's shoulder all summer either way. But keep in mind this is also the time of year for teams to err on the side of caution with just about any physical issue.
If Richardson starts training camp on time, we should get a true QB competition. If he doesn't, then every practice day he misses can only help Daniel Jones.
One place where we should take Richardson at his word is in best ball drafts.
Richardson has slipped to QB30 -- nearly a half-round behind Jones -- in Underdog Fantasy ADP. That gap's even larger on Drafters, Where Richardson sits 31st among QBs and a full round and a half behind Jones.
If Richardson starts any games for the Colts this season, he retains huge fantasy upside thanks to the rushing. That makes him well worth mixing into your best ball drafting, especially when a third QB makes sense.
A loaded supporting cast, improved QB play, and offensive continuity set the stage for Atlanta to deliver serious fantasy value in 2025.
