The Jets and WR Garrett Wilson agreed to a four-year, $130 million extension with $90 million guaranteed. That's the fourth-most guaranteed money for a WR. Wilson's $32.5 million average annual salary is the fifth-highest at the position. Wilson is now signed with the Jets through the 2030 season.
Wilson's future with the Jets looked murky at the end of last year, but the new coaching staff has been talking him up all offseason. Now the team has invested with its wallet.
Wilson has opened his NFL career with three straight 1,000-yard seasons, despite generally subpar QB play. He set personal bests last year with 101 catches, 1,104 yards, and seven TDs, finishing 19th among WRs in PPR points per game.
There's no doubting Wilson's talent, although his situation looks less than ideal again in 2025. While he should dominate targets, the Justin Fields-led Jets project to be one of the most run-heavy offenses in the league. And Fields is an average-at-best passer, with a career 61% completion rate and 7.0 yards per attempt.
Wilson slots in 17th in our current WR rankings.
Wilson's lucrative extension guarantees him a big role in the Jets' passing game for the foreseeable future.
The QB position remains unsettled, though, with Fields on a two-year deal. OC Tanner Engstrand is also a wild card, with no NFL play-calling experience.
Wilson is ultimately a bet-on-talent dynasty asset, who's just hitting his prime at 25.
