Colts QB Anthony Richardson is believed to be recovered from the right shoulder issue he dealt with last month, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder. Richardson missed two weeks of June minicamp with an aggravation of the AC joint injury that ended his 2023 season. The rest has seemingly alleviated the issue, though. Richardson has been "throwing the ball with velocity" for weeks, per Holder, although it's still possible that he'll be on a pitch count early in camp.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Richardson is trending in the right direction, but we won't consider this shoulder issue completely behind him until he makes it through at least a couple of weeks of camp without a setback.
Any advantage Richardson had over QB Daniel Jones in terms of familiarity with the offense is likely gone after the missed practice time in June. We're currently projecting Jones to be Indianapolis' Week 1 starter, although there's still a strong chance that both guys see the field this season.
We'll keep you updated on this position battle leading up to the opener.
Other Winners & Losers
As we've discussed multiple times already this offseason, all of Indianapolis' skill-position players will project for more fantasy value with Jones under center. Richardson means fewer plays and fewer pass attempts. He also vultures TDs near the goal line.
