Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) avoided the PUP list to open training camp. That puts him on track to participate in some capacity when practices get going this coming week. More importantly, it makes him ineligible to be placed on the reserve PUP list to open the regular season, which would have knocked him out for at least the first four games.

After early offseason reports that Diggs could miss the start of the season, he's now clearly on track to play Week 1. We'll see how he progresses through training camp to get a better idea of how involved he'll be out of the gate. Diggs will be a little over 10 months removed from his torn ACL when the Patriots kick off their season against the Raiders.
It won't be surprising if the 31-year-old gets off to a slow start. But he could turn into a target dominator deeper into the season. New England's WR corps is unproven and generally unimpressive behind Diggs.
