Texans insider Aaron Wilson hears that RB Joe Mixon is "doing great" after injuring his right ankle earlier this offseason. Mixon was in a walking boot at one point but has regained mobility and been able to ramp up his workouts leading into training camp, per Wilson. The Texans will likely ease Mixon into drills early in camp, Wilson adds, but it doesn't sound like he's in any danger of missing the start of the season.

Durability has and will continue to be a concern for Mixon, who has missed time in six of his eight seasons. But this particular ankle injury doesn't seem like it'll be a factor in 2025.
A healthy Mixon was a workhorse for Houston last year, averaging 19.3 carries and 3.8 targets across 12 full games. Only five RBs averaged more PPR points per game.
Mixon could cede a bit more work to RBs Nick Chubb and/or Woody Marks this year. But we're projecting him to be the Texans' clear lead back. That makes him a strong value at his current fifth-round, RB19 ADP.
