Expect Ken Walker To Be Busy In Seahawks New Offense

Seahawks RB Ken Walker was the focal point of the offense in the team's first training camp practice on Wednesday, according to The New Tribune's Gregg Bell. Walker was busy on the ground and in the passing game. He even split out to run routes from the slot. "Yeah, he looks great. He’s in a great spot, mentally,” HC Mike Macdonald said afterward. “It’s awesome to see him do all the things that we wanted him to do, from the get-go.

        What They're Saying

New OC Klint Kubiak talked up Walker's fit in his scheme and versatility: “I think Ken could fit in just about any style. He’s a talented player. So I’m really excited about him in this zone scheme. But I’ve seen Ken, in all schemes, play really good football. I’ve seen the guy catch the ball well out of the backfield, which I think is really important for our backs that we utilize them. Obviously, whatever we can do to get him touches, throwing him routes out of the backfield, throwing him screens, get the ball in their hands ... looking forward to him in this scheme. ... We’re going to ask a lot out of him.”

        2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Former OC Ryan Grubb was fired, at least in part, because he threw the ball too much for HC Mike MacDonald's liking last year. All indications are that Kubiak is installing a run-centric offense, with Walker as the focal point.

This will be Kubiak's third season as an OC. His 2021 Vikings finished mid-pack in rushing, but RB Dalvin Cook ranked 11th at the position in PPR points per game. He averaged 19.2 carries and 3.8 targets per game.

Last year's Saints were also a middling rushing offense under Kubiak. But RB Alvin Kamara averaged 16.3 carries and 6.4 targets on his way to a RB5 finish in PPR points per game.

Kubiak clearly doesn't have an issue with riding a feature back. And it sounds like Walker will be that guy in 2025. He's capable of returning nice value from his current RB16 ADP.
