Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker has missed practice time with foot soreness. HC Mike Macdonald showed no concern over the injury on Saturday.
What They're Saying
Here’s more from beat writer Gregg Bell (via The News Tribune):
"Walker is the Seahawks’ lead running back. He is vital to the Seahawks’ new offensive coordinator’s promise and directive this season of running the ball “first and foremost,” as new quarterback Sam Darnold keeps saying. Darnold’s fortunes, those of new play caller Klint Kubiak — heck, Seattle’s season — will largely go as Walker goes."
HC Mike Macdonald downplayed the injury on Saturday.
“It’s just a little soreness with his foot right now. But he’s fine,” Macdonald said Saturday. “We’re just taking care of him right now throughout camp.”
Just on Wednesday, Walker said he “felt good” and had changed his eating and sleeping routine. “And I definitely feel it in my performance, so I’m going to just keep it up and go into it with the season.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Injury risk remains a real factor for Walker, who played only 11 games in 2025. He played 15 games in 2022 and 2023.
If healthy, though, he's poised for a sizable workload on an offense that'll lean run. Walker will also play for his next contract, as he's set to play out the final year of his rookie deal.
A healthy season could certainly find the 24-year-old finishing in RB1 territory. Consider him a bit of a "buy low" target if this news forces any drop in ADP.
