Rams QB Matt Stafford remains sidelined with his back issue. HC Sean McVay said Saturday that Stafford will not participate in this coming week's joint practice with the Cowboys. McVay also revealed that Stafford recently saw back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins for the second time in the past two weeks.
McVay on Stafford: "It truly is a week-to-week thing, and what I don’t want to do is set a timeline. I know he’s making good progress. I saw Dr. Watkins again today, everything is in good shape."
The Rams continue to downplay this situation. And we're still a month away from the start of the season.
But the longer Stafford remains sideline, the bigger a risk factor this becomes for fantasy drafters. Stafford is an afterthought in 1-QB lineup-setting fantasy leagues. But his absence would be felt by the Rams' skill-position players, most notably WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
