Rams QB Matt Stafford (back) will work out on Saturday ahead of the team's preseason game against the Cowboys, HC Sean McVay said Thursday. If that goes well, Stafford will practice on Monday for the first time in training camp. McVay added that he believes Stafford would be able to play this week if the Rams were playing a regular season game.
What They're Saying
McVay: “If this was in-season, he would be playing right now. We have taken a very cautious approach. But if we were playing a game this week, he would be playing in the game.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Stafford isn't out of the woods just yet. A 37-year-old QB with a history of back injuries missing the first two weeks of training camp with back trouble remains a concern.
But The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue confirms that the Rams "aren’t worried about Stafford’s status for the coming season."
We'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation. So far, we've only made slight dings to the floor projections on Stafford and WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
