Texans RB Nick Chubb (concussion) participated in practice again on Tuesday and split first-team reps, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston.
What They're Saying
Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston: “Nick Chubb full-go again after head injury recovery. Split snaps with ones with Dameon Pierce, who was full-go for first time after strained quadriceps. Pierce looks like he’s in great shape.”

Chubb reportedly ditched the red non-contact jersey, an indication he’s either cleared or is close to clearing the concussion protocol. Per Wilson, Chubb split first-team reps with RB Dameon Pierce, who recently returned from his own injury.
With starting RB Joe Mixon still dealing with a foot injury, Chubb, Pierce, and rookie RB Woody Marks will continue to see more opportunities. But if Mixon isn’t ready for Week 1, Chubb and Pierce would likely form an uninspiring committee. Considering Chubb’s burst just isn’t there right now, perhaps Pierce would be the better bet at this point.
