Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson did not practice again on Wednesday, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.
Reiss: “Players who won’t practice today, per Mike Vrabel: RB Rhamondre Stevenson, LB Marte Mapu, LB Jahlani Tavai, TE Hunter Henry (potentially tomorrow), WR Kendrick Bourne, CB Christian Gonzalez.”
Very quietly, Stevenson hasn’t practiced since New England’s preseason game over the weekend. He’s reportedly dealing with an undisclosed injury and while it is far too early to sound the alarm, whatever Stevenson is dealing with is enough to keep him out of three consecutive practice sessions.
Vrabel did say that he doesn’t expect Stevenson to be sidelined long-term. Still, in his absence, rookie RB TreVeyon Henderson, who has dazzled during the preseason, will get more and more reps with New England’s first-team offense. Henderson already has a 100-yard kickoff return in Week 1 and a 70-yard TD during a joint practice under his belt, showcasing his huge play potential.
