Pewter Report's Scott Reynolds writes that he'd be "shocked" if WR Chris Godwin (ankle) avoided the PUP list to start the season. That'd cost him the first four games. This is more of an educated guess than a report from Reynolds, but it aligns with everything we've been hearing out of Tampa Bay.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Godwin has still yet to practice this offseason. He underwent a second surgery on his left ankle in the spring. And both HC Todd Bowles and GM Jason Licht have said recently that Godwin's availability for the start of the season is uncertain.
At this point, Godwin seems like a long shot to play Week 1. And it seems more likely than not that he lands on the reserve PUP list, knocking him out for the first four games of the season. It'd likely be at least another week or two beyond that before Godwin could be trusted in fantasy lineups.
We'll continue to keep a close eye on his progress, but Godwin is taking another fall in the WR rankings.
Other Winners & Losers
WR Emeka Egbuka continues to climb the rankings with the negative news on Godwin.
Don't forget about WR Jalen McMillan, though. He figures to be close to a full-time player for however long Godwin is out and could be a low-end fantasy starter early on this season.
