Typical run-happy approach for a Philly offense that was heavily favored at home, right? Well, according to Pro Football Focus, nine of those 14 rushes came off dropbacks.
Philly's 34 dropbacks vs. 28 designed runs come out to a pass-run split of 55% to 45%. That's still on the run-leaning side vs. league average, but well above last year's Eagles neutral pass rate of 46.3%.
Of course, trailing twice in the first half motivated some of that. The Eagles passed at just a 45% rate in neutral situations Thursday night, according to RBSDM.com.
We're expecting an offensive approach similar to last year's throughout this season, with game situations bound to impact that run-pass split regularly.
The key takeaway here: Don't fret over the lackluster passing totals from the opener, especially if you're sitting on WRs A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith.
As for Hurts, Philly's QB just continues to show that he'll score fantasy points no matter how he has to get them.
