Lions QB Jared Goff assembled an ultra-efficient outing in a Week 5 win vs. the Bengals. He delivered 258 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs on an 82.6% completion rate.

A matchup vs. the generous Cincinnati defense certainly helped. But Goff was on point, posting one of the best QB ratings of the season (153.0).
In fact, per Lions PR, Goff is one of only two QBs in NFL history with a 75% completion rate, 12+ TDs, and a passer rating of at least 120.0 through the first give games of a season.
The other QB? Peyton Manning in 2013.
On Sunday, Goff spread the scores to Sam LaPorta, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Isaac TeSlaa.
LaPorta's score came on a simple pass to the flat. The TE used his size to shed one tackle, then plowed through another defender to reach the end zone.
Gibbs scored the second TD, a designed screen that showed Gibbs' run-after-catch ability. TeSlaa scored late in the fourth on a beautiful deep crosser in the end zone.
This all happened on the road, where Goff's numbers have historically declined.
Again, the matchup was ripe here. But it's still encouraging to see Goff take advantage, as he now sits eighth in QB fantasy points ahead of the Monday night game between Kansas City and Jacksonville. The veteran ranks in QB1 range despite little from Jameson Williams, who managed just 1 catch for 9 yards against the Bengals.
Brighter days are ahead for Williams, who entered the week 11th league-wide in air yard share. Goff, however, can remain a QB1 streamer for upcoming matchups at Kansas City and vs. Tampa Bay.
