The injury-ravaged 49ers officially ruled QB Brock Purdy out for San Francisco's Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Purdy did some work on the side at practice on Friday, but was never close to returning. Mac Jones will be under center once again for the Niners.
This will be Purdy's fourth absence of the 2025 season. He originally injured his toe in Week 1.
After making it through Week 4, Purdy has been unable to participate fully in practice for two weeks.
Jones has fill in well for Purdy, averaging 302 passing yards with 6 total TDs and 1 INTs in three starts. The 49ers are 3-0 with Jones under center.
