A final decision on QB Kyler Murray (foot) will come on Sunday, but the Cardinals are "preparing" for QB Jacoby Brissett to start vs. the Colts, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Murray is dealing with a mid-foot sprain that kept him to just a limited practice on Friday this week. "There is a possibility Murray is out more than this week, as pushing it can cause an aggravation," Rapoport adds.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Murray should be on fantasy benches at this point, and Brissett is not a viable play in any format. He completed just 59% of his passes at 5.1 yards per attempt for the Patriots last year. That was a tough environment, but Brissett ranked 40th among 44 qualifying QBs in Pro Football Focus' passing grades.
Brissett is also a noticeable downgrade for Arizona's skill-position players. TE Trey McBride remains an obvious volume-based fantasy play, but WR Marvin Harrison is now just a fringe starter.
The Cardinals will likely try to lean more on RB Michael Carter and the running game with Brissett at the helm. But expect worse efficiency and fewer TD chances for Carter. It's not an upgrade, although he remains a fine RB3 or Flex play.
The Colts DST is a strong Week 6 start.
