Jets WR Garrett Wilson has been diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and is expected to miss “a couple of weeks," a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. So fantasy owners should plan on Wilson missing the next two games vs. the Panthers and Bengals. The Jets then get a Week 9 bye, and Wilson should be back for Week 10.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Wilson's absence strips the Jets of:
- 32.9% of their targets
- 31.9% of the catches
- 45.7% of the receiving yards
- 57.1% of the receiving TDs
Expect the Jets to lean even further toward the run without Wilson -- and this offense already ranks first in neutral run rate at 56.4%. RB Breece Hall should be in for all the volume he can handle.
WRs Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson, and Allen Lazard are candidates to pick up extra snaps with Wilson out, but we wouldn't bother adding any to fantasy rosters.
TE Mason Taylor could lead this team in targets for however long Wilson is out.
