Colts WR Alec Pierce led the team in targets and receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Chargers. His 10 targets edged WR Michael Pittman by one. Pierce caught five of those -- second on the team -- for 98 yards. That led the Colts by 29. A 48-yard reception made up nearly half of Pierce's total yardage.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Pierce's 19.8 yards per catch in Sunday's game aligned perfectly with his 19.9 per-catch average for the season. That followed his league-high 22.3 yards per catch in 2024.
Pierce entered the league as a downfield receiver, so this deep-ball lean comes as no surprise. His target count in Week 7 undeniably benefited, though, from the absence of WR Josh Downs.
Pierce accounted for:
- 31% of Indy's targets
- 22% of receptions
- 34% of receiving yards
His 98 yards beat his previous high for this season by 30, though Pierce topped that total three times last year. He led the team in pass routes for the game.
QB Daniel Jones also matched his season high with 34 pass attempts in the game. Pittman trailed Pierce by a target but caught a team-high seven balls for 58 yards and a TD.
Expect Pierce to return to WR4-5 territory for games against the Titans and Steelers the next two weeks.
