Dolphins RB De’Von Achane tallied 98 total yards in Sunday’s blowout loss to Cleveland. Achane’s now hit that number in five of seven games this season.
Achane was held out of the end zone for only the second time in 2025. But he did well to total 16 touches in a game the Dolphins lost 31-6. The Fins trailed by double digits for most of the afternoon, unable to overcome windy and rainy conditions.
They also faced a strong Browns defense allowing only 82.4 rushing yards per game.
We’ll keep a close eye on the Dolphins' offense ahead of a Week 8 game vs. a much-improved Atlanta defense. Miami benched Tua Tagovailoa in the second half, allowing rookie Quinn Ewers a shot at his first NFL action. The results were unspectacular, though. He completed 5 of 8 passes for 53 yards.
Tua’s likely to remain under center for the foreseeable future, but his struggles continued this week with several questionable decisions. He totaled three INTs, giving him ten on the season. There’s at least a chance the Fins bench him at some point in a lost season.
Regardless, Achane projects as the centerpiece of the offense in any game he’s healthy. Continue playing him as an RB1 next week vs. the Falcons.
