Panthers RBs Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard disappointed fantasy managers again against the Bills combining for 20-88-1 on the ground with no catches. Hubbard was the starter at 12-34-1 while Dowdle had the most rushing yards at 8-54-0. Neither hit double-digit fantasy points in PPR leagues.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The split for the backs makes both hard to start moving forward. Hubbard played 57% of snaps while Dowdle played 36% of snaps. The Panthers have been keen on giving each back their own drives, which makes it near impossible to guess which back will have the higher snap count. In this game, the Panthers only had one drive all game where both backs took a snap.
Hubbard was on the field for the longer drives, so he got more of the snaps and touches.
It didn’t help that the Panthers were blown out 40-9 in this game, and started ineffective QB Andy Dalton under center. But the outlook doesn’t look bright for the Panthers’ RBs either way.
They have the third hardest RB schedule the rest of the way with no positive match-ups going forward. The only positive is that they get three neutral match-ups during the fantasy playoffs against the Saints, Buccaneers, and Seahawks.
Dynasty Impact
Though both players are losing redraft value, they are intriguing dynasty stashes with Hubbard locked into the Panthers and Dowdle potentially earning a role on a new team next year.
