Texans WR Xavier Hutchinson tallied 3 receptions for 30 yards among five targets in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. That ranked just fourth among Houston players in targets and catches but positioned him ahead of rookie WR Jayden Higgins. The second-round pick caught his only target for 4 yards, losing playing time to the returning veterans at WR.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
According to Pro Football Focus, Hutchinson ranked second among Houston receivers in total snaps and third in routes. He trailed Christian Kirk by just two in the latter category, running a route on 66% of Texans dropbacks.
That put him well ahead of Higgins 42.6%, who led Hutchinson in playing time the week before. The key change between the two contests was Kirk and Nico Collins and returning from injuries.
The game marked the seventh time in eight contests that Hutchinson caught three passes or fewer. His 30 yards also tied for his second-highest tally of the year.
Don't expect Hutchinson to be much of a fantasy factor going forward. We'll see if Higgins starts moving ahead of him.
