Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson remained the clear lead back in Week 12, despite the return of Rhamondre Stevenson. The rookie out-carried Stevenson 18-6 and topped him in targets, 4-2.
What They're Saying
This was expected, as HC Mike Vrabel made his plan known ahead of Sunday. Here’s the quote from Vrabel in a post from ESPN’s Mike Reiss (via X):
"TreVeyon [Henderson] is going to still run the ball. Rhamondre. Terrell [Jennings]. They’re all going to have a role. That’s what this is about. No different than what we’re doing at receiver. If one guy is doing really well, then that’s what is going to go. But we’re going to use all these guys and try to get something out of them."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Henderson managed only 3.7 YPC against a bad Cincy defense, with zero runs of 10+ yards. He mustered only 1.9 yards after contact per attempt, per Next Gen Stats.
Note: The Pats lost LT Will Campbell to a knee injury, while LG Jared Wilson left with an ankle issue. Both guys are likely looking at multi-week absences.
And still, Henderson came close to his seventh TD of the season, taking a swing pass down to the one yard-line.
Meanwhile, Stevenson was stuffed on a pair of goal line attempts from the one. The second attempt came on fourth down. Overall, he managed only 5 yards on six attempts.
The Pats still have a bye coming up -- Week 14 -- but they hit the home stretch with the most favorable RB strength of schedule, per our numbers. That helps solidify Henderson's RB1/2 value.
Stevenson should be viewed as a bench stash.
