Savion Williams Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. He’ll be playing through what’s been reported as a Jones fracture in his left foot and would be a high-risk fantasy play. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Reed’s playing time and health in this one. WRs Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring) are also active.

Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Lions. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday as he attempts to play through what’s been reported as a Jones fracture in his left foot. We’ll need to see Reed looking reasonably healthy in a game before recommending him as a fantasy starter. WRs Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring) are also questionable for Week 1. Matthew Golden and Romeo Doubs figure to operate as Green Bay’s clear top two WRs in the opener.

Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. He's reportedly trying to play through a Jones fracture but is uncertain for this weekend's opener vs. the Lions. Even if Reed suits up for that one, he won't be a recommended fantasy start. His absence would leave Matthew Golden and Romeo Doubs as Green Bay's clear top two WRs. WRs Dontayvion Wicks (calf) and Savion Williams (hamstring) were both limited in Wednesday's practice. Malik Heath is the only other WR on the active roster.

We've been tracking a left foot injury for Jayden Reed nearly all month, and passed along just this morning that the Packers WR looks iffy for Week 1. But the latest revelation makes everything beyond Week 1 look iffy as well. Jason Wilde -- a longtime Packers writer -- reports that Reed's dealing with a Jones fracture in his left foot.

Packers Rookie WR Savion Williams missed Friday's training camp practice after suffering a concussion on Thursday. The rookie had a few standout catches on Thursday's practice while competing to move up a pretty full depth chart. The severity of the concussion is unknown, but we will monitor next week to see if he returns.

The Packers selected TCU WR Savion Williams with the 87th pick of Round 3 in the 2025 NFL Draft. Williams is a bet on size and speed. This past season, TCU prioritized getting the ball in his hands quickly, leading to an average target depth of only 6.6 yards. He struggled with focus drops for his career but excelled with a 75% contested catch rate. Williams played QB in high school. Across five seasons at TCU, though, he primarily lined up at WR. He took on a larger rushing role late in the 2024 season. The 6’5, 212-pounder never posted true breakout numbers. His most productive campaign came this past fall (60-611-6) alongside fellow WR prospect Jack Bech (62-1,034-9). He also ranked 31st among Combine WRs in 2024 Target Share at 18%, and 37th among those WRs in PFF Receiving Grade with a 70.2. He is currently 23.3 years old. He ranked 13th among WRs in our Draft Sharks predraft Rookie Model scoring a 6.79. Our Comp for him in our Rookie Guide is Cordarrelle Patterson.
