Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Insider Jordan Schultz reports that Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) will play vs. the Browns on Sunday. Hopkins is listed as questionable after missing Friday's practice, so it's safe to assume he won't be anywhere close to 100%. Hopkins' snaps were a bit limited by this injury last week, and he finished with just four catches on five targets for 40 yards. Consider him just a WR3 in Week 3 fantasy lineups.

Initial tests on Browns RB Nick Chubb's left knee revealed only a torn MCL, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Chubb's ACL was "stretched," but doctors don't believe it's torn. They won't know for sure until they get a better look at the knee during surgery, which is expected to take place next week. If all of this is confirmed, Chubb is expected to need six to eight months of rehab. That'd have him back on the field sometime between this coming March and May. It's excellent news after what initially looked like a much more significant injury. Turning 28 in December, Chubb's dynasty value has still taken a big hit. But there's now at least a chance he provides at least another season or two of useful fantasy production.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (oblique) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Bengals. Nacua remained limited in Saturday's practice, but HC Sean McVay confirmed that he expects the rookie to play on Monday. Nacua played through this injury last week, catching 15 balls for 147 yards. He's safe to keep in Week 3 fantasy lineups, despite the late kickoff.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He had been listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice on Friday, so Waddle is trending toward a Week 4 return. It'll be WRs Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, Erik Ezukanma, Cedrick Wilson, and Robbie Chosen behind target-hog Tyreek Hill against Denver tomorrow.

Saints RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring) has been placed on IR. He'll miss at least the next four games, making Week 7 his earliest possible return. With RB Alvin Kamara set to return from his suspension next week, Williams is droppable in standard-sized fantasy leagues. Rookie RB Kendre Miller has a good opportunity to carve out a role in Williams' absence.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring, thigh) is not listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. He was a full participant in Saturday's practice, so it looks like there's nothing to worry about here. WR Quez Watkins (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3, leaving Olamide Zaccheaus as Philly's No. 3 WR.

Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) is not listed on the final Week 3 injury report. He'll be back for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. We're expecting RB D'Andre Swift to start that game after his big Week 2. But this backfield remains one of the toughest to project. RB Boston Scott (concussion) has been ruled out, so RB Rashaad Penny should be active as the No. 3 RB on Monday.

Bengals TE Irv Smith (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Rams. He seemingly hurt his hamstring on Friday and was limited in Saturday's practice. Smith should obviously be on fantasy benches for Week 3. His absence will leave Cincinnati with TEs Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (illness) has been removed from the Week 3 injury report. He'll play vs. the Bills tomorrow. Samuel has caught all eight of his targets for 73 scoreless yards through two games, adding another 19 yards on two carries.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Rams. He was limited in practice on Friday and Saturday. WR Ja'Marr Chase said that Burrow didn't throw much on Friday, but he took all the red-zone snaps in the portion of Saturday's practice open to the media, according to insider Mike Petraglia. "We'll see." Zac Taylor said on Burrow's status for Monday night. "Thought he looked good today." We'll look for further updates on the situation. But between the late kickoff and how poorly Burrow has played so far this season, he's better off on fantasy benches for Week 3. If Burrow can't go, QB Jake Browning would start and downgrade Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to WR2/3 territory.

The Colts have released RB Deon Jackson, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. RB Trey Sermon was elevated from the practice squad in a corresponding move, so he'll fill a back up role behind Zack Moss.

Bengals TE Irv Smith was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Friday with a hamstring. His status for Monday night's game vs. the Rams is now up in the air. We'll get another update on Smith on Saturday afternoon.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (oblique) returned to a limited practice on Friday. He's fully expected to play vs. the Bengals on Monday night, but check back tomorrow to see how he's listed on the final injury report.

Eagles RB Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) was upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice. He's on track to return for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. Gainwell operated as Philly's clear lead back in Week 1, but RB D'Andre Swift exploded for 175 rushing yards with Gainwell out last week. We're guessing that Swift gets the first crack at lead duties on Monday, but this remains a difficult backfield to project.

Jets K Greg Zuerlein (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Patriots. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so he should play. But hopefully you’re not messing with this situation in fantasy lineups.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday night’s game vs. the Steelers. Meyers posted a big 9-81-2 line in the opener and is on the WR3 radar for Week 3 fantasy lineups.

Raiders WR Davante Adams is not listed on the final Week 3 injury report. He was on there on Wednesday, but it looks like he was never diagnosed with a concussion. Regardless, Adams will be ready to rock vs. the Steelers on Sunday night.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and would be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active for this one. WR Richie James (knee) has been ruled out.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We’ll look for further updates on Pacheco’s status, but we won’t get Kansas City’s inactives until a little before 3 pm ET on Sunday. He’ll be a risk/reward RB2 play in this plus matchup if he ends up giving it a go.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Broncos. He missed the first two practices of the week but returned to a limited workout on Friday. That means he's made some progress through the protocol -- but still has multiple stages to pass through. We're still not expecting Waddle to play on Sunday but will keep you updated on his status.
