49ers Expect Ricky Pearsall To Contribute This Season

49ers GM John Lynch said Tuesday that WR Ricky Pearsall is doing “remarkably well," three days after being shot through the chest. Lynch added that he expects Pearsall to contribute this season.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

It's excellent news -- but still doesn't make Pearsall worth rostering in most redraft leagues. The rookie is on the NFI list, knocking him out for at least the first four games of the season. We'll see if he's ready to get back on the field at that point, but it'll likely be multiple weeks beyond that before he's ready for a significant role. Even before getting shot, Pearsall had missed most of August with a shoulder injury.

Of course, even a 100% healthy Pearsall would likely need a Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk injury to be a reliable fantasy play.
