Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy will not face charges after his Friday arrest for alleged assault. The Williamson County (Texas) sheriff's office said it declined to press charges after further investigation that included interviewing a "third-party witness."
What They're Saying
Sheriff's office statement: "Mr. Worthy and his lawyers are fully cooperating with this investigation. We will continue to evaluate the case. As is our practice with all declines, should you develop additional information indicative of probable cause in this case, our office will consider that information and may present the case at that time to a Williamson County Grand Jury."
Statement from Worthy's lawyers: "The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy’s residence upon discovery of her infidelity. She has refused to do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior to resorting to this baseless allegation against Mr. Worthy."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
It doesn't sound like this situation should lead to any league discipline for Worthy -- barring some revelation of new info in the case.
Although the NFL can punish a player under the personal conduct policy without formal charges, it doesn't seem to have grounds for doing so in this case (so far).
Go ahead and treat Worthy across fantasy formats as though there's no off-field issue, and we'll update further if anything changes.
