The Eagles had multiple trade offers for TE Dallas Goedert during the 2025 NFL Draft, but instead decided to keep him on the team. Part of that agreement was for him to rework his contract to reduce the $11 million cap hit the team would have to take. Instead of cutting Goedert, that deal has been reworked and keeps him on the team for 2025. He will become a free agent after this season.
What They're Saying
Mike Garafalo of NFL Network: "The Eagles and TE Dallas Goedert have agreed to a reworked deal for this season. The team had trade offers for Goedert during the draft. He was in the loop. Decided to remain with the team and selflessly restructured to try running it back."
Field Yates of ESPN: "Dallas Goedert was due $14M in cash from the Eagles prior to the renegotiated deal.
His new deal is for $10M cash, with the chance to earn $1M more via incentives"
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This was always the best case scenario for Goedert's fantasy outlook. Staying on the Eagles was ideal. He dealt with a hamstring and knee injury in 2024, impacting his availability toward the end of the season.
Goedert ranked in the top 10 in fantasy points per game in each of his first five seasons with the Eagles.
He finished in the top-24 in that category in each of the last two seasons.
Expect solid TE2 numbers for Goedert again, especially if he can stay healthy this season. Next year, the Eagles will likely let Goedert walk if he commands starting TE money.
