Commanders WR Terry McLaurin expressed his frustration with the Commanders on his quest for a new contract. He has also stated that he remains on the fence about holding out into training camp. He previously sat out minicamp, but McLaurin doesn't want to be traded. He reiterated that he wants to stay in Washington, but this situation could bleed over into training camp and create a complicated situation moving forward.
What They're Saying
Terry McLaurin: "I've been pretty frustrated, I'm not going to lie. Everything that has transpired up until this point has been disappointing and frustrating. I want to continue my career here. I've created my life here. My wife and I bought our first home here. This has been somewhere I've always wanted to be."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
McLaurin's statement could motivate the Commanders to try and get the contract to the finish line before a training camp hold out occurs.
But with Commanders' training camp coming in just a week, that appears unlikely.
The addition of QB Jayden Daniels last year helped propel McLaurin as a TD threat unseen previously in his career.
The most impacted fantasy player in McLaurin's absence would. be Daniels if McLaurin holds out or even comes into the season rusty.
The Commanders showed they can be contenders, but a receiving group without McLaurin would be trouble.
New WR addition Deebo Samuel was added, but WRs Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane leave a lot to be desired.
We will continue to update if more news breaks about McLaurin's intentions.
