49ers WR Ricky Pearsall was placed on the active PUP list on Friday. As a reminder, players can come off the active PUP list at any time. But Pearsall is not eligible to practice as long as he's on the PUP. He missed time in the spring with a hamstring injury, which he's presumably still dealing with now.

The 49ers' first training camp practice isn't until July 23. And, as insider Matt Maiocco points out, players who were rehabbing injuries in the spring can report to camp early but are automatically placed on the PUP list. "Some of those players are expected to come off the list and be on the field when 49ers practice begins on Wednesday," Maiocco adds.
We'll see if Pearsall is one of the those players who will be ready to go next week. He finds a huge opportunity this season with WR Deebo Samuel gone, WR Brandon Aiyuk still working back from last year's season-ending knee injury, and WR Jauan Jennings recently threatening to demand a trade.
But he needs to get on the field, especially after his rookie season was interrupted by an attempted robbery that left him with a gunshot wound to the chest. He also missed time last spring with hamstring trouble and was sidelined for a chunk of August with a shoulder injury.
