Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has been in search of a new contract, opting to report to training camp instead of continuing his hold out. But, he apparently reported with an ankle injury and will be placed on the PUP list
What They're Saying
Adam Schefter of ESPN: “From holdout to apparent hold in: Commanders WR Terry McLaurin was spotted at the team’s training facility Saturday, per sources. McLaurin arrived without a new deal but with some sort of ankle injury. Washington now is expected to place McLaurin on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.
As a holdout, McLaurin was racking up $50k per day in fines and training on his own. As a hold-in, he can’t be fined $50K per day and he’s around the team.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The “ankle” injury allows McLaurin to report to camp (and stop being fined $50k daily as a holdout) but still keep himself off the practice field.
He had a career year with QB Jayden Daniels racking up 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 TDs last season.
Reports say that contract talks are still far apart, but the situation is worth monitoring.
McLaurin likely is in line for some TD regression in 2025 anyway, but not participating in camp makes him even less favorable at his WR17 ADP.
