The Commanders are activating WR Terry McLaurin from the physically unable to perform list today, which will allow him to practice for the first time since training camp began.
What They're Saying
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: "Terry McLaurin is coming off the PUP list, as he's set to ramp up -- the next step in returning to practice. There is no indication of progress on an extension. But with the season looming, McLaurin will begin the process of getting his body ready."
ESPN's Adam Schefter: "The move is the next step in his progression, but unrelated to negotiations."
OC Kliff Kingsbury on Friday: "I think we're kinda at that point to where we need to start getting those guys -- when they're available -- out there and jelling and see where we are as an offense."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
It was never likely that McLaurin's absence would persist into the regular season. These stalemates rarely do. So the timing of this return -- still about three weeks ahead of the opener -- is certainly positive.
McLaurin should have plenty of time to assure he's in shape and reacclimate to an offense familiar to him from last year.
We'll see whether his time away knocks down his ADP. That draft price is the main factor in whether Washington's lead WR will make sense for your team. Our consensus ADP has him at WR19, which seems like a good price vs. last year's top 10 scoring. But McLaurin tied for just 29th among WRs in expected PPR points per game, and that was before Deebo Samuel arrived to challenge his target count.
That's why you'll find McLaurin featured in our list of fantasy football players to avoid.
