It was a rough day for the Chargers' offense, but one of the few bright spots was WR Ladd McConkey. The beleaguered WR scored his first TD of the season and had another long punt return TD called back due to a roughing the punter call. This was McConkey's first TD since last year's Wild Card loss in Houston and helped mask what was an otherwise poor outing for Jim Harbaugh's squad, which has now lost back-to-back games after opening the season 3-0.

The TD was welcomed, but McConkey was reduced to short-area passes and was held under 40 receiving yards for the second consecutive game. He reeled in 5 of his 7 targets for 39 yards. The 7.8 yards per catch figure tied Week 1 of the 2024 season for the lowest number of his career.
Miscues and an injury-ravaged O-line once again did the Chargers in. Los Angeles committed 10 penalties for 85 yards, and QB Justin Herbert was sacked 5 times. That pressure helps explain why McConkey and the Chargers' pass-catchers were unable to make plays downfield.
Quentin Johnston led the receiving corps with 55 snaps, but had season-low target (4) and receiving yards (40) totals. Johnston also committed a costly fumble that halted a second-quarter drive.
Keenan Allen led the team with 9 targets, catching 5 balls for 58 yards.
RB Omarion Hampton gobbled up 17 touches in the first half but exited early in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Hampton remained on the sideline trying to get loose but never reentered the game. After the game, he was seen in a walking boot.
If Hampton misses time, the Chargers will be forced to rely even more on Justin Herbert, who led the team on Sunday with 60 rushing yards.
In Week 6, Los Angeles travels to Miami.
