Bills DT Ed Oliver suffered a torn left biceps in Sunday's win over the Panthers. Testing Monday confirmed the injury, according to multiple sources. Oliver will have surgery and miss the rest of the season. The 27-year-old -- he turns 28 in December -- has two more years remaining on his contract.

Losing Oliver removes one of the team's best defensive players and a particularly important pass-rushing factor.
The minor positive: Oliver had already missed four of the first six games with an ankle injury, so his re-removal shouldn't dramatically impact the defense vs. what we've seen so far this season.
Buffalo has struggled mightily against the run. Interestingly, though, the two biggest opponent rushing totals came in the games Oliver played and didn't leave early:
- 238 yards by the Ravens in Week 1
- 210 by the Falcons in Week 6
The Bills also sit tied for fifth in the league in sacks per game.
It'll help that the team just got DT Larry Ogunjobi on the field for the first time, following a six-game PED suspension to open his first year with the team.
DTs DaQuan Jones (calf) and T.J. Sanders (IR, knee) have also missed time but should return.
