Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire Targets
Let's start with some sack-collecting DL options ...
Rashan Gary, Edge, Green Bay Packers
Gary racked up 4.5 sacks and 7 QB hits across the first three weeks of the season. That makes it surprising to see the seventh-year edge available in 88% of Sleeper leagues as of this writing.
But the empty stat line against Dallas in Week 4 paired with a Week 5 bye should only increase that availability. And a Week 6 matchup with the Bengals should change it.
QB Jake Browning took just two sacks in Sunday’s loss to the Lions, but Detroit logged 9 QB hits. And Browning took three sacks in each of his previous two starts, despite just 30 and 29 dropbacks in those games.
We’ll see if Joe Flacco replaces Browning right away, but that switch certainly wouldn’t remove the sack upside.
Maliek Collins, DT, Cleveland Browns
Think Collins is enjoying playing next to Myles Garrett?
The 30-year-old DT has never exceeded 5 sacks in an NFL season but already has 3.5 through his first five weeks as a Brown. And it doesn’t look fluky.
According to Pro Football Focus, Collins is generating pressure at a career-high rate -- but he had also improved in that area before arriving in Cleveland:
| Year | Pass Rushes | Pressures | Rate |
| 2025 | 126 | 17 | 13.5% |
| 2024 | 435 | 45 | 10.3% |
| 2023 | 506 | 48 | 9.5% |
| 2022 | 350 | 37 | 10.6% |
| 2021 | 364 | 31 | 8.5% |
| 2020 | 320 | 14 | 4.4% |
| 2019 | 492 | 48 | 9.8% |
| 2018 | 393 | 31 | 7.9% |
| 2017 | 428 | 30 | 7.0% |
| 2016 | 460 | 30 | 6.5% |
This week pits Garrett against Steelers LT Broderick Jones, who ranks 52nd in PFF pass-blocking grade among 68 OTs who have played at least 100 snaps.
Garrett attacked the Steelers for 4 sacks and 12 total pressures across last year’s two meetings. Expect that monster to draw extra attention Sunday and potentially create extra space for Collins.
After that comes a decent sack matchup with Miami, and then an upside spot against the Patriots.
Alex Highsmith, Edge, Pittsburgh Steelers
Did Highsmith get dropped in your league while he’s been out resting his Week 2 high ankle sprain? If so, now’s a good time to snap him up.
The sixth-year pro hopes to play Sunday against the Browns, who lost LT Dawand Jones to IR in Week 3. Highsmith says he plans to increase his practice work throughout the week, though he’s no lock yet for Sunday’s game.
He’s stash-worthy for a Week 7 Bengals matchup (and just general upside) even if this week doesn’t happen. If Highsmith remains out, then fill-in Nick Herbig will make for a nice upside play.
T.J. Edwards, LB, Chicago Bears
Edwards sat out the opener with a hamstring injury, then tried to return for Week 2 and aggravated it. The veteran LB hasn’t played since and still wasn’t practicing before the team’s Week 4 contest.
But ESPN’s Courtney Cronin reported that Edwards was on the field for a bye-week practice last Tuesday. We’ll see if that means Edwards is ready to return this Sunday against Washington. But even if he doesn’t, Chicago’s top LB should play shortly thereafter.
That makes this a good time to try to stash him where he got dropped, if you have room to carry the extra LB. Expect Edwards to reclaim his job from Noah Sewell as soon as the hamstring allows.
Payton Wilson, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers
I wrote about Wilson (again) in my most recent IDP Hits. There’s certainly risk in trusting that his Week 6 playing time will look more like the Week 4 version than the game before, but coaches were quite happy with the way he played last time out.
This week presents a high-upside matchup with the Browns, who have yielded more fantasy points to LBs than any other team has.
We’ll see about Wilson’s time (and performance) in that game before looking too much further ahead.
Jihaad Campbell, LB, Philadelphia Eagles
Campbell racked up a season-high 11 tackles in Sunday’s loss to the Broncos. That marked a significant increase over his totals from the first four weeks (3, 7, 8, and 4), and we’re still learning what to expect on a weekly basis. But the rookie has exceeded 90% playing time every week.
Campbell gets a good spot to follow up in Week 6, against a Giants team that heads into Thursday night as the second-best scoring matchup for fantasy LBs. Week 5 found them allowing double-digit tackles to New Orleans’ top two LBs.
Campbell sits available in 86% of Sleeper leagues as of this writing. He’s nursing a biceps issue but put in a limited practice Monday.
Veteran Nakobe Dean’s nearing a return from his latest injury. We’ll see how those two fit together in the lineup. But I’m not expecting Dean to mitigate Campbell’s Week 6 impact, and I wouldn’t bet on the Eagles significantly decreasing the playing time for their first-round pick.
Nate Landman, LB, Los Angeles Rams
Landman led all LBs in scoring for Week 5 (depending on your format), thanks to 14 tackles and 3 passes defensed in the OT loss to the 49ers.
That marked his third game of 8+ total tackles this season, and now Landman gets another upside spot.
The Rams visit the Ravens, who have supplied the third-most points to LBs. That has included tying for fifth-most solo tackles yielded and a smattering of big plays. And Baltimore has actually allowed more points to the position with Lamar Jackson in there than in the Cooper Rush game.
Tre’von Moehrig, S, Carolina Panthers
Moehrig sits in mid-to-low DB3 territory -- maybe lower, depending on your scoring -- because of a dearth of big plays so far. But he ranks a solid ninth among DBs in total tackles and figures to stay busy at least in that category at the back of a bad defnese.
This week, in particular, finds Moehrig facing a Dallas offense that has presented the league’s most fantasy points to DBs. Dallas has supplied more solo tackles to DBs than any other team and sits tied for fourth with 20 passes defensed by DBs.
Moehrig set career highs with 104 total tackles and 10 passes defensed in his final Raiders season before signing with Carolina in free agency.
Marcus Sigle, S, San Francisco 49ers
The fifth-round rookie has played every snap through the first five weeks and racked up 21 total tackles over his past two games. Sigle added a pass breakup in each of those games as well.
He’ll find upside in both areas this week against the Buccaneers. Tampa has yielded the third-most solo tackles to DBs and tied Dallas for fourth-most passes defensed allowed to the position group.
Baker Mayfield sits on just 1 INT through five games, but his 4.1% turnover-worthy play rate marks a career high, according to PFF. So Mayfield’s been lucky to avoid more picks.
Amani Hooker, S, Tennessee Titans
Hooker posted a season-low 4 total tackles in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals. That marked the fourth time in five games that he has gone for 5 tackles or fewer.
But Hooker gets the nod for a high-ceiling matchup with the Raiders in Week 6. Vegas entered Sunday supplying the fifth-most fantasy points to DBs. That included 23 passes defensed, five more than any other team.
Geno Smith tossed another 2 INTs (adding to his already league-leading 7) and 8 total passes defensed.
