Week 10 IDP Waiver Wire: Need DL Help? You're in Luck!

Drake Maye can't stop taking sacks. Now it's YaYa Diaby's turn to get after him. The young Buc leads a loaded group of Week 10 IDP waiver wire options up front.

Week 10 IDP Waiver Wire: Need DL Help? You're in Luck!

        Big Week for the D-Line

This list of IDP waiver wire pickups is sorted by position, and then by priorty.

Of course, IDP leagues vary widely by depth, scoring rules, and lineup settings. So to get the best measure of who to pick up in your league, check your Free Agent Finder.

Week 10 IDP Waiver Wire Targets

        Dre’Mont Jones, DL, Baltimore Ravens

        Headshot of Dre'mont Jones

It’s easy to understand why the Ravens traded for Jones this week. He delivered sacks in each of his final four appearances with the Titans. After going without a QB hit through five weeks, the veteran racked up nine of them over those four contests -- including four against the Chargers on Sunday.

Now he moves to a Baltimore front that badly needs his help, and the Ravens start him with three straight high-upside matchups:

        • Vikings
        • Browns
        • Jets

Those are the Nos. 1, 2, and 3 matchups for D-linemen this season, according to our adjusted fantasy points allowed.=

Pick up Jones this week where available.

YaYa Diaby, Edge, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

        Headshot of Yaya Diaby

It’s easy to overlook because the Patriots won their sixth straight game Sunday. But they also allowed 6 sacks to the Falcons in that contest.

Drake Maye has now taken 6 sacks in two straight games and 4+ sacks in three straight and four of his past five outings.

Diaby heads into Week 10 as Tampa Bay’s best sack bet after tallying three of them among his past three contests.

        Any Other Bucs Pass Rushers?

Edge Haason Reddick will also be worth a look this week … if he’s ready. Reddick notched a QB hit in each of his past three contests, but he missed Tampa’s last game with ankle and knee injuries. We’ll have to see about his participation this week, coming off the Week 9 bye.

Edge Anthony Nelson would be the fallback option if Reddick remains out. He racked up 3 sacks over his past two games but would play more limited snaps if Reddick’s ready to return. Nelson’s fine as a speculative waiver add where available this week, as long as you don’t need to drop a good player to get him.

        Montez Sweat, Edge, Chicago Bears

        Headshot of Montez Sweat

Sweat delivered a sack for the third straight game in Sunday’s win over the Bengals, adding a pair of pass deflections.

Week 10 finds a home date with the Giants, who limited the 49ers to a pair of sacks in Sunday’s loss. But New York yielded 9 sacks over the previous two games and entered Sunday supplying the fifth-most fantasy points per game to D-linemen.

Walter Nolen III, DT, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals drafted Nolen 16th overall in April but then lost him to a calf injury for nearly all of training camp and the first half of the regular season. I figured we’d be looking at some sort of ramp-up period and limited production once he returned.

Well, if this is the ramp-up, then I can’t wait to see the destination.

Nolen played a solid 55% of the defensive snaps in his NFL debut Monday night and made an immediate impact. That included:

        • 4 tackles (3 solo)
        • 1 sack
        • 2 tackles for loss
        • 1 pass deflection

Nolen looked like a potentially exciting IDP prospect after racking up 6.5 sacks and 14.0 tackles for loss in his lone season at Ole Miss. He now looks like a guy at least worth rostering in DT-required leagues, with the potential to deliver in general DL slots.

        Payton Wilson, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers

        Headshot of Payton Wilson

Guess we gotta do this again …

The Steelers continue to waver on just how much they want to keep Wilson on the field. His four games since the bye have seen the following snap shares:

        • 66%
        • 43%
        • 67%
        • 85%

The last of those came with Cole Holcomb inactive, so we shouldn’t necessarily trust it as the new normal. But the game also included season highs from Wilson in total tackles (14) and solos (10), as well as his first INT of the year, among his first two passes defensed.

And all that came amid the Steelers limiting the Colts to 20 points and season-low rushing yardage in a controlling victory.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Pittsburgh try to approximate the defensive plan from that game for at least one more week.

Beware of the downside risk in Wilson’s unsteady role. But the upside he continues to display makes him worth the attention.

(Note: Jets LB Quincy Williams appeared here on initial posting, but then the Jets demoted him Wednesday.)

        Tyrice Knight, LB, Seattle Seahawks

        Headshot of Tyrice Knight

Ernest Jones appears likely to miss at least one game after hurting his right knee in Monday night’s win over the Commanders. His early departure allowed Knight to re-enter the lineup.

Knight responded with a team-high 10 tackles, despite playing just 57% of the defensive snaps.

Knight’s not a lock for strong tackle production even in Jones’ absence. He reached 70% playing time just once across the season’s first three games, despite starting each week (before losing that gig to Drake Thomas).

But he will face a Cardinals offense that has supplied the ninth-most fantasy points per game to LBs. That makes Knight worth a look in deeper leagues this week (along with Thomas, where available).

        Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, Arizona Cardinals

        Headshot of Akeem Davis-Gaither

Don’t chase too hard after this modest producer -- especially early in the week -- but there’s some potential upside for deeper leagues.

LB Mack Wilson left early in the fourth quarter with a rib injury and did not return. If he sits out the Week 10 visit to Seattle, then Davis-Gaither could see a playing-time boost. At the least, he’d add some tackle upside and likely play in more passing situations.

The Seahawks have presented just a middling matchup for LB scoring, but ADG and Wilson combined for 17 tackles in the first meeting -- with Davis-Gaither tallying a team-high 10 (5 solos).

        Dre Greenlaw, LB, Denver Broncos

        Headshot of Dre Greenlaw

This one doesn’t climb above the “stash” level, despite what Greenlaw’s Week 9 stat line might suggest.

He collected 8 tackles and a sack in his return from a one-game suspension. But Greenlaw did that on just 37% playing time, following a 27% snap share in his Week 7 return from injury. It’s also worth noting that only two of Greenlaw’s 14 tackles so far have been solos.

But he’s allowed some buildup time after a recurrent quad injury cost him his first Denver offseason, basically all of camp, and nearly half the regular season.

It’s tough to know how soon Greenlaw will get the kind of snap count we can actually start in IDP lineups. But his background makes him worth stashing for now if your league’s deep enough for that to make sense.

Isaiah Pola-Mao, S, Las Vegas Raiders

        Headshot of Isaiah Pola-Mao

Pola-Mao ran fairly irrelevant for fantasy purposes through the first six games. That has changed over his past two outings, though.

First came 10 tackles (8 solo) in the lopsided loss to the Chiefs. Then came 9 tackles (7 solo), an INT and 2 passes defensed in the OT loss to Jacksonville.

Big snap counts -- 75 and 80 -- the past two weeks obviously helped his numbers, and we can’t count on even the Raiders defense spending that much time on the field week to week.

This week looks like a solid spot, though, against a Broncos offense supplying the ninth-most fantasy points per game to DBs.

        Cole Bishop, S, Buffalo Bills

        Headshot of Cole Bishop

Bishop leaped from 1 pass breakup for the season to 5 in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs. He also added his second tackle for loss among the past three games.

The bigger reason to grab him for Week 10, though, is a high-upside matchup with the Dolphins.

Miami has not only yielded the most fantasy points per game to DBs so far. They have proved friendly on both the tackle and big-play fronts. That includes:

        • 9 INTs allowed to DBs
        • 5 forced fumbles
        • 5 fumble recoveries

        Mike Jackson, CB, Carolina Panthers

        Headshot of Michael Jackson

Jackson has supplied only modest tackle production so far this season. But he’s averaging a pass breakup per game, after doing the same in that category last year.

Week 10 pits him against a Saints offense that entered the weekend allowing the second-most DB points per game.

Jackson will be a good option for CB-required slots and a potential factor for general DB slots.
