1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Allen had a poor game before the bye, throwing for only 180 yards, but he has one of the highest floors of any QB. He has 2+ passing TDs in five of six games and averages 42 rushing yards per game. The Panthers have been most susceptible to the pass and are last in the league in pressure rate. With a clean pocket, Allen should excel with the potential to be QB1 overall this week.
2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are expected to score 29.5 points against a defense that allows the eighth-most passing yards per game (238.3). The Commanders also surrender the sixth-most fantasy points to the position, including 4 QB1 finishes in their last 6 games. This is a prime time game at home for Mahomes, so expect another elite fantasy performance from the overall No. 1 QB.
3. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Hurts has delivered season highs in passing yards for three straight games. The middle number came in the first Giants meeting, which found Hurts completing 73% of his throws and tallying 2 total TDs.
4. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
After missing two games, Lamar Jackson is back to--hopefully-- salvage the Ravens' season. Before getting hurt, Jackson ranked second in fantasy points per week. Jackson is well rested and gets a great matchup this week, facing a Chicago defense allowing the 12th-most fantasy points to opposing QBs. Expect another top-5 outing from Jackson in a game where the Ravens are projected to score a healthy 28 points, third-most on this slate.
5. Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
Nix posted a stunning ceiling game in Week 7, with the majority of his 39 fantasy points in the fourth quarter alone. Consistency remains an issue with this Denver offense. But the matchup is right for Sunday’s matchup vs. Dallas. The Cowboys allow the most passing yards per game and could be without CB Trevon Diggs and S Donovan Wilson.
6. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Maye is on the short list of the best fantasy picks of 2025. He enters Week 8 as a top-5 fantasy QB, with 14 TDs and 2 INTs. He's a locked-in, every-week QB1, even in a tough matchup against a Cleveland defense that allows the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs. The Browns haven't been as sharp on the road, allowing multiple TD passes in all three away games this season. View Maye, who is playing his first home game in four weeks, as a high-end QB1.
7. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mayfield just had his worst game of the season, throwing for 228 yards and a TD on Monday night. He also had no rushing yards. With Mike Evans down for most of the season, along with Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving still hurt, Mayfield is shorthanded. Luckily, he faces a weak Saints defense who are allowing the second-highest TD rate per pass attempt (6.9%). Expect a bounce-back for Mayfield.
8. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
(Played Thursday)
9. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
Jones gets a Titans defense that ranks 10th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs. But that's largely because their run defense stinks and they're almost always playing from behind. Tennessee sits 24th in our Pass Defense Power Rankings. The Colts figure to run it plenty in this one, but with a huge 30.75-implied point total, there will be enough production to go around for Jones, too.
10. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Prescott enters the week ranking second among QBs in fantasy points. He also sits tied for second at the position in pass attempts. Now, Dak draws a tough Denver defense that’s allowed a league-low 4.9 yards per attempt. Downgrade him to low-end QB1 range.
11. Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
If Dart can rack up a season high in fantasy points while completing just 45.5% of his passes at Denver, then it’s gonna be tough to bet against him in any given week. There was some luck involved, most notably the tipped pass that landed in Theo Johnson’s unintended arms for a long score. But Dart has found ways to top 20 fantasy points (depending on your scoring) in each of his four starts. His best actual football performance probably came in the first meeting two weeks ago with Philly, which sports so many soft spots on defense that it needed to call Edge Brandon Graham out of retirement this week.
12. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Williams only ranks 21st with 1,351 passing yards, but this week's matchup looks favorable. The Ravens allow the second-most fantasy points to QBs. When Williams played Dallas, the only team to allow more fantasy points to QBs than Baltimore, he produced a season-high 298 passing yards and 4 TD strikes. We don't expect those gaudy numbers, but the fantasy-friendly total of 49.5 points puts Williams on the QB1 radar for Week 8.
13. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Love has been a classic better in real football than fantasy player. He is top ten in the NFL in completion percentage, yards per pass attempt, and TD rate. Despite that, he only has one top-10 scoring week this year. With Josh Jacobs central to the offense, Love has a low ceiling, but the Steelers just got torched by Joe Flacco. This could be a spot for Love to throw a few TDs if the run game isn’t working. He certainly is startable, but recognize the ceiling is lower than other QBs.
14. Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals
Flacco has turned in QB17 and QB6 fantasy finishes in his two games with the Bengals. He's funneling targets to WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins (58% combined target share). And the Bengals are pass-heavy again, throwing on 70.9% of their plays with Flacco. Next up is a bad Jets pass defense that'll likely be without top CB Sauce Gardner. With the Bengals implied for 25.5 points, Flacco looks like a very nice Week 8 spot starter.
15. Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
In two starts, Mariota posted a QB4 and QB19 finish and a 1-1 record. He averaged a modest 181.5 passing yards per game with 3 TD passes in those two starts, but did run for 60 yards and a score. This week, Mariota will have his work cut out against a Kansas City defense that allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing signal callers. View Mariota as a mid-range QB2 who has a decent floor due to his scrambling ability.
16. Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
Penix creeps up the QB2 ranks this week for a matchup with Miami. The Fins have allowed 23.1 fantasy points per game to QBs and sit last in pass defense DVOA.
17. Carson Wentz, Minnesota Vikings
(Played Thursday)
18. Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rodgers had to keep pace with the Bengals last week, ripping off four TDs. He is sixth in passing points per attempt, but the Steelers offense still is balancing the run and the pass. With Rodgers going against his old team and coach, he may be motivated for a big game and the Packers have allowed worse QBs in Joe Flacco and Jacoby Brissett to each put up 18+ fantasy points. Rodgers can be a desperation start this week.
19 (tied). Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets
It sounds like Taylor will get the start this weekend, assuming his injured knee allows it. He was serviceable -- at least compared to Justin Fields -- in his Week 3 start vs. the Bucs, completing 72% of his passes for 197 yards, two TDs, and one INT. Sunday's matchup vs. the Bengals' 28th-ranked QB defense puts Taylor on the superflex radar.
19 (tied). C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
Stroud looked bad in completing a season-worst 46.9% of his passes at Seattle a week ago. San Francisco’s got a friendlier pass defense, but the Houston QB now must go without his top two WRs. He’s not a guy worth betting on unless you need to.
21. Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
Rattler has had plenty of ups and downs this season. He had a fine fantasy day, throwing for 233 yards and 2 TDs, but he added four turnovers. The Buccaneers' defense could make Rattler a strong streaming option this week. They give up 7.7 yards per pass attempt, 26th in the league, but have only given up 3+ passing TDs once this season. Rattler is a QB2.
22. Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
Jones has played well through five starts. But he has also gone two straight games without a TD pass and finished each of those weeks outside the top 25. Now comes his toughest matchup to date, against a Houston D that has allowed just 4 TD passes through six games (while grabbing 6 INTs).
23. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
Tua enters Week 8 with a career-low 16.2 fantasy points per game. Playing without Tyreek Hill and now Darren Waller, the embattled QB is a low-end superflex option against an improved Atlanta defense.
24. Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers
Dalton fills in for Bryce Young who is out with an ankle injury this week. Dalton could infuse some life into the Panthers passing game. The Bills have been surprisingly strong against passing QBs allowing only 11.6 fantasy passing points per game, fifth in the league per Sharp Football. Dalton finished as a top-15 QB in two of his four starts last year, so he is a fine streaming option this week.
25. Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland Browns
26. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Ward set season highs last week with a 73.5% completion rate and 7.5 yards per attempt. But he still threw just one TD, turned it over twice, and took five sacks. We'll see if Ward can take another step forward this week against a beatable Colts secondary, but he remains a shaky QB2 play.
