The final numbers make it look like TE Albert Okwuegbunam played a key role for the Raiders Sunday, with Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer out. But don't let his 5-36 receiving line on six targets (tied for second on the team) fool you.
Okwuegbunam finished the first half with one 16-yard catch among QB Geno Smith's 12 completions. He then added the rest of his work after the Raiders had fallen behind 40-3.
The tight end's second target came at the end of the third quarter, on the possession following Indy's third TD of the quarter. The rest, of course, followed in a meaningless fourth quarter.
Okwuegbunam trailed Ian Thomas by seven snaps for the game but wound up leading him 24-14 in pass routes. That ranked him third among all Raiders, behind only WR Jakobi Meyers and WR Tre Tucker.
Thomas hadn't seen a target before Sunday's game, despite playing every week. And he still finished just sixth on the team in targets despite the depth-chart depletion.
If Bowers and Mayer remain out in Week 6, Okwuegbunam could prove relevant for deep PPR leagues. But he's not likely to make much fantasy impact the rest of the way.
