Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson was held without a catch in Sunday’s blowout loss to Denver. He drew only one target on 35 team pass attempts.
Here’s HC Brian Schottenheimer on Denver’s approach to stopping Ferguson.
“They played real wide,” Schottenheimer observed via The Dallas Morning News. “They are a real wide, contain defense. They line up the widest of the widest. That’s how they call it. [DC] Vance Joseph is a helluva coach and had a great plan.”
Not much to add here. Ferguson's lone target was picked off -- a downfield pass that Dak Prescott tried to force into tight coverage.
Before Week 8, Ferguson hit 12 PPR points in six straight. Even with the return of a healthy CeeDee Lamb, there should be enough room for the TE to deliverable startable fantasy totals in most weeks moving forward.
