Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence enters the Monday night game as the QB11 in fantasy scoring for Week 9 (depending on your format). His two rushing scores -- from 7 yards and 1 yard out -- delivered more than half of that value. They propped up a mere 220-yard passing line with no TD passes and 1 INT. It's worth noting, though, that Lawrence entered the game with an illness that just came on over the weekend.
What They're Saying
Lawrence's wife, Marissa, via Instagram: "We both were up alllll night so sick and I've been down so baddd today. I have no clue how he went and played a game ... much deserved win."
Jaguars HC Liam Coen: "Pale as a ghost throughout the whole game. A frustrating interception down at the goal line, but I'm proud of the way he responded, the way that he played, especially later on when the game was really on the line. He competed his tail off. Very proud of him."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Lawrence's passing results would be easier to dismiss if they didn't line up so well with the rest of his season. His 6.5 yards per attempt actually tied his second-best single-game mark this season. The 67.6% completion rate fell just one-tenth of a percentage point short of tying for his second-best mark.
The TDs could just as easily have come via passes. And the INT came from the Vegas 2-yard line on a second-and-goal. And Jacksonville had two other possessions reach the red zone: one produced a FG, and the other a Bhayshul Tuten 1-yard TD run.
The remaining factor to consider here: receiver injuries.
Jacksonville lost Travis Hunter for a knee injury during the practice week that landed him on IR. Brian Thomas Jr. entered the game with a shoulder issue and left in the fourth quarter with a new ankle injury. Dyami Brown also entered with a shoulder issue, and also left with a new injury (concussion).
So we can cut Lawrence some slack for a meh passing performance in Week 9 ... while also not forgetting that it's been a pretty meh passing season.
Lawrence will make for a bad fantasy play against the Texans in Week 10. And that kicks off a remaining run that ranks 27th in QB strength of schedule.
Not only should you not count on Lawrence in 1-QB fantasy leagues the rest of the way. He looks cuttable this week in many such leagues.
