Vikings RB Aaron Jones endured a quiet Sunday at Green Bay, running for 41 yards on nine carries while adding 16 yards on 3 catches among four targets. Minnesota managed just 22:45 in time of possession for the loss, trailing the Packers by 14.5 minutes. Jordan Mason beat Jones by a yard on the ground despite logging one fewer carry. He didn't see a target.
What They're Saying
Jones, before the Week 12 game: "My goal and my responsibility is to make [QB J.J. McCarthy's] job easier, but also echo [that] to the nine other [offensive players]. We've got to make his job easier, and once he's gotten some of those reps and some of those things, he's going to make our jobs easier. But in the early stages, you've got to make his job easier."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Jones and his guys apparently didn't make it anywhere near easy enough at Green Bay.
McCarthy went 12-of-19 passing for the game, tossing a pair of INTs, taking five sacks, and fumbling once (though he recovered it).
The first-year starter at QB is clearly the biggest issue for the individual value of everyone on the offense.
On the positive side, Jones continued to work clearly ahead of Mason. He edged the No. 2 RB just 9-8 in carries but dominated receiving work. Jones ran 17 pass routes to Mason's two and played 29 snaps to Mason's 12 overall.
A Week 13 visit to Seattle looks even tougher for McCarthy and the Minnesota offense. Combine that with no teams going on bye, and Jones doesn't look like a fantasy starter for the week (if you can help it).
A Week 14 visit to Washington looks much friendlier, as do visits to the Cowboys and Giants behind that.
