Eagles WR A.J. Brown racked up 8 receptions for 110 yards and a TD in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. His 10 targets trailed WR DeVonta Smith's team lead by one but marked his second straight game of 10+ after five consecutive outings of single-digit targets.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
There was a pretty clear effort to get Brown going early against Dallas. His 47.4% first-read target percentage for Week 12 trails only Jaxon Smith-Njigba, ahead of Monday night's finale for the week, according to Fantasy Points Data.
That rate stood at 30.7% through Week 10. But Sunday's effort follows Brown leading all Week 11 receivers with a 52.4% first-read target rate.
The approach didn't work especially well against Detroit last week (7-49 receiving on 11 targets) but fared much better against the Cowboys.
Brown secured catches on each of Philly's first two plays and added a 16-yard TD to close out that drive.
He grabbed two more passes on the team's next possession and should have added a 7-yard TD but failed to get a second foot in bounds before tapping the pile-on. (Jalen Hurts ran for a TD on the next play.)
Unfortunately for Brown, the offense went dormant in the second half.
Can We Trust Brown the Rest of the Way?
All four of Brown's TDs for the season have come in the three games that also found him reach 100 yards. That makes Sunday's production an outlier among his 10 contests, especially coming against a Dallas D that's been the league's most favorable to WRs by a wide margin this season.
The wideout's enhanced usage over the past two weeks makes it easier to trust him in fantasy lineups in most cases going forward, especially with a fine slate of matchups.
But temper your excitement if you're comparing Brown against other strong options week to week. The Eagles still can't quite seem to turn it all the way around, and Sunday's game followed two poor offensive outings.
