When the Cowboys visited Philadelphia to open the season, WR George Pickens tallied just 3 receptions in his first game with the team. Dallas channeled bigger target loads to CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson in that game. But Pickens made a much larger impact on Sunday's rematch victory. He snagged all nine of his targets for a game-high 146 yards and a TD. It was Pickens' second straight game with 9 receptions and at least 144 yards. It was his fourth consecutive week with at least nine targets.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Pickens also notably beat multiple Eagles DBs in coverage, including Philly's top two cover guys.
According to Pro Football Focus, Pickens:
- caught two balls for 52 yards against CB Cooper DeJean
- snagged three for 40 yards against CB Quinyon Mitchell
- snared three for 41 yards (including the TD) vs. CB Adoree' Jackson
- and added a 13-yard catch on LB Nakobe Dean.
I'll admit, I wondered if this matchup might slow Pickens at all, especially after Philly stunted the Green Bay and Detroit offenses the previous two weeks.
But Pickens looks like a weekly must-start going forward, even with a remaining schedule that ranks third-worst for WR scoring by our adjusted fantasy points allowed.
