Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba entered Week 13 with 79+ yards in each game this season. But he caught only 2 of 4 targets for 23 yards in Sunday's blowout win over Minnesota.
What They're Saying
Here’s JSN after the win (via X), commenting on the approach from Vikings DC Brian Flores:
"Coach Flores does an excellent job mixing up looks and we were just taking what they gave us.... Sam (Darnold) made the best decisions for the team, Zach (Charbonnet) and K9 did their thing, so it just wasn't one of those days."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
JSN's first target didn't arrive until the second quarter. His first catch wasn't recorded until late in the third.
A 17-yarder made up his biggest play of the day, a simple screen pass where he dodged a couple of would-be tacklers for extra yards.
Ultimately, we see no reason for fantasy managers to panic going forward. JSN exited this one without an injury and ran a route on 95% of Sam Darnold's dropbacks. Darnold's play has dipped of late, but we expect him to continue leading on his top target down the stretch.
Look for a rebound next week at Atlanta.
Other Winners & Losers
Seattle's secondary WRs continued to underwhelm.
Cooper Kupp finished second in routes (86%), ahead of Rashid Shaheed (67%). But Kupp managed only 3 grabs for 24 yards on 4 targets. Shaheed caught only 1 of 3 targets while continuing to contribute as a returner.
Rankings Movement
No change here. Smith-Njigba will remain atop our rest-of-season WR rankings when they're updated tomorrow afternoon.
